With the latest Art Update, I’m trying something a little bit different. Instead of working through my artwork and projects chronologically for the month, I’ll break it down by work type. In this case, artwork, timelapses, ko-fi supporter rewards, and twitch art streams.

As with everything, I would greatly appreciate your feedback on this new setup: do you like it or not, and why or why not? Is there something else you’d like me to include? I would love to hear about it!

Art

Rose Mandala

This mandala took 5-6 hours at least, with the amount of detail and colour. I aim to cut back on the detail in my next mandalas to make them easier to colour, and the flowers don’t get lost in the design.

Sunflower Mandala

The second mandala for my colouring book is complete! 😀

This one is significantly simpler than the Rose Mandala, as I’m making an effort to have the colouring pages more accessible. (I don’t want to scare everyone away with the complexity.) I’m going to leave the more detailed Rose in the pdf, of course, but the mandalas going forward will have more consideration when being created. I want them to be fun, first and foremost!

Dahlia Mandala

The third mandala in my flower series features a Dahlia. With this one, I went with the flower displayed prominently in the center with floral shapes, like petals and leaves, all around it. Something a little different! I don’t know much about these flowers, other than that it seemed quite symmetrical overall and seemed like it would fit a circular design. It turns out it does!

Lotus Mandala

The next mandala in my collection is Lotus! I wanted the centre of the mandala to feature the flower and for the mandala as a whole to feel like a (complex) lotus. What do you think? Did I get it? Now I need to figure out which one to make next!

Timelapses

I create timelapses of all of my artwork and share those on my YouTube channel. If you would like to see more of my timelapses, I have a playlist I put together that contains all of them. The videos posted here are just the ones from August.

April Ko-fi Raffle prize

April’s Ko-fi raffle winner requested a pot of plants, bluebells, baby’s breath and forget-me-nots, and here is timelapse for that project. If you missed it, you can find the final version on Ko-fi!

The sunflower mandala was a lot of fun, and the first mandala I have finished in under two hours. The final version is here.

August’s Supporter Rewards featured the Rose Mandala and are here. Supporters can access the Rose Mandala as a high-res download and three different wallpaper options for PC and mobile devices. (Here, here, and here.)

September’s rewards will be going up on Sunday (tomorrow!), so do keep a lookout for those as well.

Twitch Art Streams

Starting in July, I stream art on Twitch every Sunday and Wednesday, from 11 AM to 1 PM Pacific time. I would love to see you there, so do stop by if you want to hang out with me while I create some art. I record these streams, too, and share those on my Youtube channel every Thursday and Friday at 3 PM Pacific time.
